Maria Guadalupe "Lupina" Padilla lived a full life. She passed away quietly in her home on June 16, 2017 at 90 years old surrounded by her family. She was born in Viesca Coahuila, Mexico in 1927, where she was raised on a farm along with her three sisters and brother. She would later attend medical school at La Universidad de Nuevo León in Monterrey, Mexico where she would receive her doctorate degree as well as meet her future husband, Guillermo Padilla. They married in 1951 and shared 62 loving years of marriage together, along with raising their four children. In 1958, they packed up their things and the family moved to Houston, Texas. It was here where they paved the way in the medical community and opened Padilla Medical Clinic in 1969 in east downtown Houston, where their legacy continues to provide quality medical care to this day.

Lupina dedicated her life to her family, never falling short of helping anyone in need and always offering unending encouragement and guidance to all of her loved ones.

She is survived by her children Claudia and her husband Andras, William and his wife Ann, and her son Richie, along with her grandchildren William, Maelesa, Elisabeth, Tony, Malorie, Tomas, Angelica and Anamaria. She is now in God's loving arms along with her husband Guillermo and her daughter Genie.

Memorial service will be held on July 8, 2017 at 3pm at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home, 4525 Bissonnet St. Reception to follow.
